What will the men wear?

One of the things that I am looking forward to the most is walking down the aisle and seeing my groom standing there. I can't wait to see if he is smiling, if he is nervous, or rather tears will be coming down his eyes. So while I'm looking at him, looking at me, I want him to be looking his best. We have talked a little about what he and his groomsmen will wear, we really haven't went into detail. But no fear, he has a great fiance ready and willing to give him some options.

Round or Square? Where will the guests sit?

Every bride wants there wedding to be unique. Not like any other wedding they have attended or the standard cookie cutter wedding they have seen in movies countless time. One way I want to mix of the monotony of my upcoming nuptials is by planning with the room design. Everyone does rounds, so why not switch it up and incorporate estate tables or smaller square tables. Here are a couple of my favorite room reception set-ups below.

I love this set up. It is a long estate table in the middle flanked by rounds on the outside.

This set up is great as well. As the couple uses a mix of both rounds and square tables at the reception venue.

Another shot of a set up that uses a mix of both rounds and square tables at the reception.

Another great view of a wedding that used one long estate table and then surrounded it with round tables.

Long estate tables are also a great option as well. They look very stately (ha, hence the name) and brings a different flow and feeling into your wedding.

Which is your favorite? Are you doing just rounds at your reception or are you planning to do something a little non-traditional?

Wedding Themes

Lately I have given a lot of thought to what I want our wedding theme to be and can finally say I have have settled on a theme. Romantic. Yes, I want a romantic wedding. I want you to walk into my wedding venue and romance just screams at you. What is a romantic wedding? I'm glad you asked. It is candlelight filling up a ceremony with soft rose petals sprinkled along the aisle, it is delicate and beautiful flowers throughout the reception space, it is soft music played throughout the cocktail hour, it is crystal candle holders and magnificently placed chargers, it is strategically placed up-lighting - that is romance and that is what I want my wedding to be.

Wedding Venue Update

Update on the wedding venue search. I finally had a chance to get down to Atlanta and take a look at some of my wedding venues in person, and what a whirlwind. My fiance and I got a chance to take a look at about 5 venues including The Peachtree Club, Marriott Marquis, Ventanas, The Biltmore, Fernbank Museum and Fox Theatre. And we did it all in one day. Lol.

It was great actually seeing these places in person instead of looking at online brochures and persuing google image search for pictures. We came away with a couple of top choices and are slaving away at proposals right now. We hope to make a finally decision this week and next week tops. So stay tuned to see what our Atlanta wedding venue choice will be!

My Top Atlanta Venue Choices (Peachtree Club)

After months and months of analyzing what seems like a million wedding venues in Atlanta, I have narrowed my search down to six amazing choices. While I was primary looking for rooftop venue, I expanded my search and included some others that peaked my interest as well. Also, as you know, I have not looked at any of these venues in person, so for now I am just going on my own research until I travel to Atlanta in 3 weeks. Fourth on the list...
